📌 Part of my real-life money rebuild series
This is what I’m doing right now — no perfect plans, no fluff.
Why I Gave Up on the “Perfect” Budget
Traditional budgets always felt like I was failing.
- I’d miss a category or overspend and then quit altogether
- It felt rigid and made me feel guilty instead of empowered
- Life just doesn’t fit into perfect boxes — and neither does money
My Real-Life Debt Strategy
Here’s what I’m actually doing now:
- I list every debt once per month — on paper or in Notes
- I send money to the one that bugs me most (emotional payoff first)
- I round up all my account balances weekly and send the “extra” toward debt
What Matters More Than Math
The truth? Consistency. Not the spreadsheet.
If I show up, even messy — my balance goes down. That’s enough.
